If Ron had managed to stop George Foreman in their fight in 1976, how soon could he have gotten a rematch with Muhammad Ali?

Ron would've deserved the shot for sure, and Ali might've seen him as a relatively safe fight that he'd be better prepared for than the first. Would he have risked the Norton fight against the dangerous Lyle is the question...my guess is he'd avoid Ron and wait until after Norton.

I've a feeling Ron would have found a Banana Skin to slip on, The rigures of foreman fight did Ron no favours, Ali had Norton and a roadshow of easy touches to fill his dance card, perhaps Ron would of call for a Quarry Rematch ? i suspect the Foreman Camp certain would be ringing Ron's Number, Ron, Shavers or Norton, ? Ron would have exciting possibilities, Ali may of kept him on the backburner too long. - at one stage they were talking Ron - Mac Foster.
