I thought Mundine saved himself for the last half of the bout, and won enough of the first half to be safe... on points mid-way.. if tallied up. If continuous HOLDING is a foul, then he should have been DSQ'd early. Wood did quite well to keep himself in the picture for 10 rounds. Credit to him, he's put a lot of work into the training. Clear win to Mandy with/without deductions. The first 'ruled' KD was typical of QLD... average!!!!
what do you mean, the ref has to be consistent with his call. Cant penalize one fighter but not the other. They were both holding
Mundine's peek-a-boo defence worked well for him, and Garth didn't have the tools to get through it often enough. Wood simply couldn't deliver a lead to Mundine's open belly, or an uppercut between Mundine's gloves. Mundine ducked forward and burried his head in his gloves a number of times and Garth just didn't have the weapons to take advantage. A 2006/7 version of Mundine would have schooled Wood. The 2011 version did just enough to win ugly. The referee plainly had no idea!
backed mundine for bit , jeez i was lucky to get up . chocs surely finished at top level after that **** he served up tonight . chocs holding all night had the look of a old scared fighter , choc cant pull the trigger any more - less than 5 jabs each round . how about the brissy judges 2 of them gave garth only 2 rounds ffs , won 5 for sure . still cant believe how bad choc looked tonight under any pressure - looked totally shot.
i would say garth wood, with his lunging in then holding, rugby tackles onto the ropes. I fukn hate garth woods style, never want to see him fight again. He might be better off trying mma, he looks like he would be a good wrestler.

Mundine held Woods arms for fear of getting into a fight it seemed, grabbed and wouldn't let go of his head often pushed Wood's head down with his weight at the back of Wood's neck applying pressure to the disks in his neck. I know Wood can be a grabby ****, turning fights int wrestling/rugby matches, but tonight Mundine was the grub, not wanting to let go of Wood in close out of fear of getting KTFO.
