This fight must happen for 2015, Mickey turned up in tremendous shape against a young lion in his prime and ruined him in 2 rounds It's be interesting to see the krusher's reaction after seeing that. Now kovalev is the same age as the guy and in his prime, do you reckon he'd duck Mick?
I dont think Sergey wants another senior citizen. The way he dominated the roided to the gills Roidnard was enough for him. He doesnt like the smell of horse semen eminating from him opponents, especially when he's gotta get close to em to hit em. Rourke is on more juice than Roidnard, and the stink in that ring must be horrible.
That's a step too far for Rourke, IMO. Arthur Abraham would be a more realistic option. Either him or Anthony Dirrell.
I was there at the fight, I paid 600 bucks for tickets and loved every minute of it. it was epic. The whole arena, the entrances, was worth the fee alone. mickey looked scary in there. Absolute beast, his punches sounded like bullets from ringside. Sorry kovelav fanboys, but Rourke ruins him inside four rounds.
Oh come on, let Kovalev milk the title a bit before feeding him to the lions. Rourke might be a bit past his prime, but I reckon he stops Kovalev in 5 or 6 with a blistering blow to the ass.
I think it was in the 2nd round, mickey leaned on the ropes and let the guy come in and fire his best free shots and none them had any effect on micks chin. This is why I think he can easily nulify kovalevs power which we ALL know is his only weapon which no other fighter has been able to withstand. But Rourke showed on the biggest stage that he has a granite chin and can come back straight away and end your night with a body shot. kovelev's silence is deafening.
Rourke made his opponent look like some random hood rat that was picked up from the same street as Michael Brown. We were all screaming for the ref to stop the fight after hearing the sound of the first punch mickey threw. No fighter in the top 10 wants any of that.
