    Can some one tell me about ROYsnr's background just heard that him who fought marvin hagler he just claiming he did can any one put a bit of light on it.

    Be nice. You don't know the age or background. Now there I go making assumptions. Anyway

    I believe Hagler did ko Roy['s father. I'm not 100% sure of that, as I've never seen the footage. It does seem as though I read that somewhere. I don't have any other details for.

    As I understand it, the one that fought Hagler and the one that is a father to Roy Junior are different men, and Roy Senior allowed the press to believe this rumour by ommision.

    The problem I see with this RJ is according to Roy's own memories his father started "teaching" him boxing when he was only 5 years old, and that would be before Jan 1975, while this Jones only began his boxing career after that time, so he wasn't former boxer who had a go at teaching his son. Roy was born and grew up at his father's house in Pensacola, FL, while this boxer was reported to have been from Las Vegas, NV (1976-11-19 The Fresno Bee - "LAS VEGAS ... decision to hometowner Roy Jones").
