Looks like Hearn/Joshua calling the shots.

Where could these venues be? Can’t imagine Nigeria would have the funds. I know Dubai has just opened a new 17k capacity arena, there? Mexico? The Aztecs would be iconic. Saudi? Can’t imagine it.

Unfortunately these other venue's are just a tactic for Eddie to stall whilst he deals with Ruiz being a baby

I think it’s reasonable for Ruiz to be very sceptical of fighting in the UK after the Whyte issue.

I know I would be in his shoes. The deck wouldve been totally stacked against him and now he would feel he can’t trust the drug testing.

I don't understand why it isn't happening in New York again.
That would make sense for both fighters.
Hearn claimed that Joshua wanted it in Madison Square Garden, and Ruiz said he's happy with New York again.

I get that but if the agreement was as Eddie says
Then Ruiz and team are just being arses

It might work so fair play

I felt Eddie was very careful with his wording. It wasn’t clear whether having a rematch in the UK was a clause or not.

Reading between the lines it sounds like it wasn’t.

What's the delay? Serious question. I want to see this fight!

Buying as much time as he can for Joshua to improve and prepare for the rematch, I imagine it will take place around February/March.

Take him to Cardiff, would be a special night for British boxing.

Of course that's what Matchroom would want because they could stack the deck as much as possible (without considering the UK's new dubious reputation for drug testing).

I hope it happens somewhere more neutral so it's a totally fair test. That's what was good about New York. I think if Joshua could 'right the wrong' at MSG it would win him tonnes of respect.

if Joshua wins in dodgy circumstances because of the home venue it wont do his reputation any good. I guess it doesn't matter these days does it, juiced to the gills, cards stacked in his favour, a win is a win right? on a level playing field its highly likely AJ could lose again, so I guess they will do all they can...

The clause would of been that MR pick the venue.

Perhaps - but the fact it's taking so long makes me think it isn't that clear cut. If it was easy and clear, the fight would be organised for a UK venue.
