Really want to see him against Jerwin Ancajas whom i’d fancy to beat him even despite his recent underwhelming draw. I rate Ancajas very highly. Rungvasai was fighting a lot of puddings before he came out of nowhere to beat Gonzalez (the first fight was v debatable). Beating Estrada as well was very impressive. He’s got a lot of mileage on the clock though and at 32 he’s at the back end of his career for a super flyweight. My point is, I think he’s there for the taking very soon.
He had a world title run before beating Gonzalez loosing a TD to Carlos Cuadras in 2014. He has fought a lot of puddings but Thai fighters are generally more active so his mileage is still pretty low. I really like his style a tricky southpaw hunter and almost rhythmic with his footwork but he took to many shots in his last few fights and Ancjas could exploit that with his power. Could be a cracker.
He was coming on strong against Cuadras as well. He's legit. Would hammer Ancajas IMO. With regards to the OP, the fight with Yafai makes absolute sense but he only seems interested in fighting the ghost of Gonzalez currently. They'll likely make the Estrada rematch anyways
Maybe Hearn is lining up Yafai to fight him in 2 or 3 fights times when he thinks he is their for the taking, it certainly would not surprise me with Hearn.
Couldn't agree more. Quality fighter but has miles on the clock. Think he would outman Yafai so can't see that anytime soon. I'd also pick Ancajas over him
