Heard mixed reports on the benefits of running whilst holding dumbells. Theyd be either 2kg or 5kg. Got a lot of good tips from this forum and wondered what you guys opinions are on this?

    good question. good points raised!

as running is mainly a cardio workout i dont see massive gains from running with weights. I dont think there will be a massive effect with an extra 5-10 kilos on your knees (guys in the military will tab 10km with 25kgs).

Why not try and fartlek train (different speeds on different terrain in the same run) with your slowest parts as a walking shadow box? Just an idea. not one i have tried.
