I agree with you. Muangsurin's ascent to a professional world title in just three fights is virtually unheard of.

Muangsurin wasn't blind then and he isn't blind now...he's suffering from dementia and who knows what else. I saw him last week and he's struggling to walk unassisted and looks thin but he has his sight.

Where did he see him, out of curiosity?

Would that be Saman Sorjaturong? That guy was a banger.

That being said, I wish there was more footage of Muangsurin avaliable.

He totally deserved to be named fighter of the year in '77 with 6 title defenses. I forget now who Ring mag called their FOTY and I remember being really annoyed for them overlooking Muangsurin. Definitely top dog that year for putting it on the line and against outstanding comp.

Bump. Not sure if there was a thread devoted to this topic, but Maugsaurin died at the age of 58 recently.

    RIP.

    R.I.P

If anyone wants to see some more footage of him, I can have his title defense against Guts Ishimatsu uploaded to youtube.

    RIP Champ.

The man defended his title 8 times, I think he did it 6 times in one year alone.

I would appreciate that as I enjoy your channel on Youtube and subscribe to you.

The only footage I have seen of him as a professional boxer was his loss to Hearns. I enjoyed reading about him winning the world title in his third pro fight.

Cool, cheers for this one Flea.

From what I've seen of Saensak, which to be honest isn't as much as I'd like, he's a very imposing fighter without much craft. He was an aggressive, in-your-face type fighter who was an absolute unit and sand bag fists.

I haven't seen the Mamby fight yet, but it's a SD, and we know about Mamby and decisions. Is it controversial?
