The good news is it looks like the UFC have upped their lowest basic salary to $8k. I think it used to be $6k and maybe even lower at one stage. The finalist should be fighting for a higher basic and bonus then the losers of the show. To me that is common sense.

Also, Bipsing must really be a draw for the UFC to keep upping his pay.

    :rofl

This would be 9-9 Alex Reid, who just got a victory in August to snap an 8 fight winless streak? :huh

What are a couple of his biggest wins, or notable achievements in MMA, if you don't mind?

    :hat

I think he just meant the best known, Haggis.

Bisping is the biggest star in the UK (face it, Alex Reid is very well known but on the grand scheme of things Bisping is a bigger draw) and probably the best MW in Europe, I agree, and so he gets paid that much.

I know he is/was Katie Prices' husband and that is the vast bulk of his celebrity, but saying that he's Britain's biggest MMA star is wrong. For a start, Reid is basically a clubfighter. Bisping earns far more money, plies his trade on a far bigger stage, and has far greater success and legitimacy in the sport. Reid might show up in the trash mags more, but he's not there for his fighting prowess, he's there because of his celebrity missus.

I'd be interested to see viewing numbers for Bisping fights vs for Reid fights before we start calling Reid the biggest star in British MMA. :good

Or you could take the word of some British MMA fans who dont live over 10000 miles away from the country you are talking about with such authority
