I feel Sam is pretty underrated. One of the most dedicated fighters of all time. Gave Winky Wright a real hard fight, and most thought in one of there fights was robbed against Anthony Mundine, also holds a pretty solid resume of wins, take a look..............

-Sakio Bika (First ever man to defeat Bika)

-Enrique Ornelas (Ornelas holds a win over Bronco McKart and has fought in a elimantor for the Undisputed Middleweight Title)

    -Neville Brown (Former British Champion)

-Cornelius Carr (Former World Title Challager)

-Eric Teymour (18-1 record, Sam only ever man to defeat Teymour)

-Nader Hamdan (32-0 at the time and former WBA World Title Challeger)

-Ramon Arturo Britez (Britez holds a win over Julio Cesar Vasquez)

    -Plaisakda Singwancha (IBO Title Challager)

-Raymond Joval (Former IBO World Champion who holds wins over Angel
Hernandez, Shannon Taylor and Willie Gibbs)

-Diego Castillo (Fought For Interim WBC 154 Title)

    -Max Alexander (14-0 Record)

-Jose Alberto Clavero (WBA Title Challager)

    -Miguel Julio (IBF Title Challager)

-Fernando Zuniga (Holds a win over Carlos De Leon Jr)

-Ojay Abrahams (Nothing Special but Ojay has beat some hot prospects)

I think Sam was worthy for a world title at one stage of his career, alot worst have had world titles.

Yep, Sam has ducked no one. Great guy and deserves a lot of credit for turning his career around.

    Agreed J12.

Sam's willingness to take on any challenge has produced a record that would have looked far prettier with some 'padding' like most other fighter's records.

been good for aussie boxing, his conditioning is something from another planet and i reckon he would make a great conditioning coach for some of the worlds best

if i were him, i would be trying to get a job for someone like Arreola or Toney before big fights, good way to make a few bucks shedding pounds off these fatties

ill always remember him as the most akward fighter i ever did see, like a chimp

Met him a few years back at the airport, think it was after he was returning from Japan winning or defending an OPBF title. Very friendly and down to earth guy, and contrary to so9me other comments I don't mind watching him fight at all. OK he's no slickster, but his awkwardness can work just as well for him.

Sams drunken orangutan style would give most fighters nightmares and could still trouble most of the current top 10 middles.

middle is definitely his best weight.

He doesn't fight that way by accident. His trainer Dave Hedgecock has been preaching that angled style to Sam and others for years.

"I've just left the travelling party that is Sam Soloman. What a lovely guy"

That's a quote from an emial I received from one of the best boxing writers in the US.
What's not to like about someone you can't predict what he's going to do next in the ring. He throws them from the bleachers, the cellar, or the bar.
    Onya Sammy

    Congratulation to you & Maria.
