Sanches vs Pedroza?

I think Pedroza had the kind of style to give sanchez serious trouble and I think Sanchez knew it also. That is why he never wanted to fight him and put down Pedroza's title when asked about it. Pedroza by late ko in his prime, or 96 in rds.:rasta:toney

 

There's really nothing to suggest Pedroza could KO Sanchez. Pedroza didn't KO people (in general) and Sanchez had an iron chin (in fact). Pedroza decisioning Sanchez is reasonable. If you compare their careers, yeah Pedroza had longevity but I'd say Sanchez had defeated the better fighters (Gomez, Lopez x 2, Nelson (although a little green).
Pedroza was definitely more impressive against Ford, but I think Sanchez was more impressive against Laporte.
I'd take Sanchez in a close decision.

If Pedroza committed himself to a sustained body attack which consisted of a lot of bolo punches, he would've been rocked badly by Sanchez if not stopped. This ain't Juan Laporte we're talking about (good fighter but a bit of a plodder). If Pedroza consistently drops his hands against Sanchez he'd get sparked.
Once again, Pedroza boxing from the outside, moving and eeking out a decision is plausible. Pedroza breaking Sanchez down and stopping him with a sustained body attack? I gotta call BS on that scenario. Pedroza never stopped anyone near Sanchez's calibre (Olivares was well past it) and Sanchez was never stopped like that.

 

I remember watching these two when I was a teenager and I thought Pedroza would have won. Now I lean towards Sanchez by very tight decision.

 

contrary to his record, sanchez was NOT a puncher in a lot of the mags he was listed under the featherfisted list. Pedroza could set in the body shots and still out box sanchez.

 

Sanchez wasn't a huge puncher and I'm not really predicting a stoppage. I'm saying it's more likely that Sanchez stop Pedroza than the opposite. Sanchez stopped 3 fighters (Gomez, Lopez x2, Nelson) better than anybody Pedroza beat.
