Saunders' next fight announced

I shared your opinion initially. Just had a look and Murray is still #9 on boxrec?!

Suppose Frank can sell it that way.

 

If it's a tick over fight why not give him someone he can KO.

 

This is exactly the fight Billy doesn’t need on the back of that wave he was riding after the Lemieux fight. This will kill his momentum and he will lose some/most of that overnight fame he got with another trudging to a UD performance.

 

This is exactly the fight he does need, when you think about it.

For him it'i a nice fight to tidy him over until later on in the year, for the Golovkin vs Canelo 2 winner.

He gets another (likely) 12 rounds under his belt in shape with his new trainer.

It's a name, it's a British fighter and it's a quite a safe fight for him considering the other options whilst he waits for the big pay day vs the above winner for all the belts.

 

Should be an easy win for Saunders at thus stage as Martin is well past his best. 2-3 yesrs about would have been a crsvkimg fight not now. Not the biggest of fights at this stage but keeps Saunders busy and Martin actually gets a world title shot in the UK, unfortunately for him a few years to late.

 

Not an exciting fight but it’s great that Billy is staying active will keep his skills and fitness sharp.

 

Sleepy time, not for the fighters but for us

 

Get skeete vs some feather fisted southpaw on the undercard and people will be asleep for a month!

 

This will get more publicity than his last fights

 

Keep busy until a Jacobs canelo ggg can be made. What do f##kin morons want. You moan when he's fat and inactive then moan when he's trying to stay busy against someone who is decent and more to the point available. Give the kid a break. And however much you run Murray down you should show him some effing respect! He's been robbed a few times and deserves to earn a living. And is good enough not to be underestimated

 

Like its been said, Murray was a good fighter but he is well past it now...i know im s sucker for questions like this but imagine Murray won?! Would he get the winner on Canelo GGG or would he go a different route?? Or maybe even retire on top you think?
