Just wondered what everyone thought of his first fight under Roach and his second at Featherweight?

Looked like he had learnt some little defensive tricks, his actual boxing though was virtually non-existant, just happy to go into a tear-up. Got caught a ton by left-hooks also.

    Thoughts?

    Does not beat Selby
And made very hard work of that fight last night and I don't think he as took a lot of power with him to the new weight
But I like how he as relocated to better himself nothing wrong with being honest to the fans and ones self

He won't last much longer in the game if he takes that many hits in a fight. No head movement at all.

Can see a long night for quigg against selby. He's gonna be running into plenty of straight fast shots

    He looked slow and cumbersome

His defence is to use his face to take shots. He already slurs his words, he'll be a cabbage fighting that way much longer.

That was a decent fight with Simion.
Quigg doesn't look world class though. More like a brave blue-collar clubfighter, good for these undercards. He'll be a professional stepping-stone soon.

Toe to Toe against a short ass. When he could have countered him all night. not a good performance.

Poor performance. I rate quigg as well. Decent fighter. But this move to roach isnt going to work out. Roach is obviously a good trainer but its a bit like how much attention is quigg getting over there. I know gallagher has quite a few fighters but for all the stick he gets. You could see him giving everything to his fighters. How impoetant is quigg to roach? Hes a busy man afterall.

I agree with most of the posts on this thread. No footwork, no head movement, was a very easy target to hit. He just sat in the pocket. It was like watching two cumbersome heavyweights not light as a Tesco's carrierbag, featherweights. I'm baffled has to why he fought like that.

I don't think roach will improve him what so ever. I think he was partly the problem last night. Terrible tactics

On what I saw last night Selby stops him, if Quigg repeats that sort of display he will take a savage beating.
