I think the time for this fight is past. I don't see Pavlik/Calzaghe happening.

Exactly what I was thinking. Calzaghe-Pavlik is just as important and big as Taver/Dawson fight. Not sure how much the rocky movie has raised Tarvers stock.

He loses to dawson, so don't expect that fight to ever be made.

I can't stand Calzaghe as everyone here probably knows, but if he beats Jones and then fights Pavlik he'll get massive respect from me. I won't support the **** but I'll give him respect for taking the fight.

I know but in my defense I had seen PoW voice some discontent about Joe recently so thought this may have been following on from that. The WBO belt, as most people know, is irrelavent to me. As for staying at 175, you could make a case to say it would be better for Joe to stay there & make a legacy.

the general consensus is that a win over Pavlik right now means about 100x more than a win over Dawson

Your complaining about Joe Calzaghe wanting to fight Pavlik? Dawson would be very interesting but comeon, a lot of people want to see Pavlik v Joe.

Cut the man some slack, and im no hugger by any means, but if anything, this would the high point of his career.

*Disreguard if you're taking the ****, lol.

I have to admit that it would look better for Joe if he let it go now. It has done all it can for him - currently it is just holding him back. Also, why would Pavlik be interested in the WBO belt of anything?

I think Joe should meet the winner of Dawson-Tarver. Even if Roy and Hopkins were a bit past it, beating the winner of those two would give him definitely legacy at LHW as well as SMW. Beating only Hopkins and RJJ leaves him open for a lot of criticism regarding his lhw status.
