It's Pride of Wales not Pride of Calzaghe... Anyway, he's probably more Italian and was born in England so it's not like he's like Dai Rhys from down the road ennih. I will happily change it though if my people demand it. It's like a millstone around my neck these days.
He is claimed by people of Italian descent (not all but some who know his father is Sardinian) and by the Welsh. Be proud of what Calzaghe has accomplished thus far - everything else is icing on the cake. atriot (Isn't Calzaghe's mother Welsh)? Anway, just like someone like Derek Jeter who is half Irish descent/half black; he is claimed by both black and white fans a like - same thing with Calzaghe more or less.......:yep And for the record, I'm with the majority of boxing fans, as I'd like to see Calzaghe (if he gets past RJJ) take on Pavlik for his final fight. Hell, I think Jones will be a tougher opponent than Pavlik. I'm much more confident in a Calzaghe win over Pavlik, than I am RJJ. Calzaghe should be concentrating on September 20th. :good
This is what the problem with todays fan no matter what a boxer does there will always be a reason to complain .This is why its hard to discuss certain fighters with certain fans .
I have yet to hear this fight is official. Hell, if RJJ doesn't sign soon and Kelly doesn't get a partner......

as much as I would love calzaghe/dawson, i think there is more money for joe against pavlik. I wont knock him for that (hell pavlik is the undisputed middle champ, cmon man). He could still fight Dawson after pavlik if he wins, but I seriously doubt he will do that. I am in the camp that believes the only threat to joe is dawson. I would pick and bet on chad to beat him.
