Do you honestly think that he improved David Haye?

Haye did better in the first Bellew fight with McGuigan in his corner than he did in the second one after they split

True he was not as good under McGuigan as he was prior to him but he had a long injury layoff in-between.

I thought McGuigan did as well as possible with the version of Haye he trained.

Two cheeks of the same arse. Both performances were absolutely turd.

    Two terrible bouts.

To be fair I don’t think that sham of a comeback counts. Meant the proper fighters not his exhibition vs Bellew.

My Nephew, an ex Fighter and now a trainer, is pals with Ben. Even he says that Davison is great at nutrition, s&c etc.. but knows nowt about fighting.

Sounds about right. John Fury (absolute numpty but probably right on this occasion) said Davison was only ever a companion for Fury - someone to keep his spirits up, get the weight off, get him doing his runs etc & when it came to needing some expertise he ditched him.

And most importantly Jamie is old school and understands the importance of respect in boxing. Davison clearly doesn't.

    Definitely.

Jamie is no mug. He's a Salford lad. Those boys are no idiots.

Haye was taped together, coming out of retirement and after a few quid lol

He's took Frampton and Josh Taylor all the way. Both of them have since fell out with the McGuigans as we all know.... but when asked, they both still say what a fantastic trainer he is despite there differences.

Okolie has become a world champion and looked far better than he did previously.

Fowler has visibly improved under Shane but he has a ceiling there. He just needs to earn as much money as he can out of the game while he can.

Groves was going to be a nearly man but won a world title under Shane

    Numerous examples. Very good trainer.

Taylor was going to leave McGuigan given what's gone on money wise but it was a big step backwards to replace him with Ben Davison.

Nobody has said he's not a good trainer. I was replying to the post claiming that he had improved everyone.
Haye's training camp was a circus.
Fowler has beaten some poor opponents but got stopped for the first time.
Although Groves won a vacant belt in the UK, I'm not convinced that the Groves that got stopped by Smith was an improved version of Groves in his first Froch fight.
Also, Frampton was trained by Gerry Storey for his first few years as a pro.

I thought Shane ditched Taylor because Taylor ditched Barry?

I'm sure Shane said he refused to train someone who tried to break off his contract with his Dad to join MTK after Bazza had done so much for him.

    Campbell.

Dubois already looked much better on his feet.

IMO Campbell's best performance was his split decision loss to Linares for the World title (when he was trained by Jorge Rubio).
