Frye and Bas are great although Frye's voice has a little too much manlyness for 4am. I thought Daley's looked poor, he got his chance to strike and didn't seem himself although Masvidal made it hard for him. The kick he attempted was awesome though. The fight could have gone either way in my opinion, second and third rounds had clear winners and the first could go either way. The Sokoudjou fight was like a Sokoudjou fight usually is. Was a good fight. I don't see how Jardine is going to make his way back to the UFC, he gets dropped too easily even if he did turn it on in the last round nad have a couple of good submission attempts early on, was another good fight. I enjoyed the card.
i liked the fights tonight, frye was hilarious his voice reminds me of "the mancho man" randy savage lol,as for the fighters daley should be signed by strikeforce and get a few good fights.alexander will stick around shark fights and get a few more c class mma fights, prangly will probably get another good name fight and defend his shark fight belt.jardine is done and needs to give mma up for a while if not for good
Sokodjou is so ****. He's just a one round fighter with ZERO cardio. Every time he faces some adversity he just wilts.
I think sokodjou has a even bigger problem than his cardio and that is the fact that he doesnt transition between striking and judo too well. he could have taken alexander down early in the first after he hurt him. Instead he chose to waste a lot of energy and was unable to close the show on huston- I thought he had it. sokodjou is just too flawed of a fighter, he doesnt put together all his skills his striking is pretty good - he has devistating power, he has great balance and power he should be able to take someone like alexander down easily. I was also always impressed with his head movement which I dont think he used in this fight. all this is pointless. he is mentaly weak and cant execute a gameplan if his career depended on it (which of course it does) his cardio is terrible, he simply falls apart too easily and is so frustrating to watch. what a waste of talent. I guess Im the fool for expecting different results.
Houston showed real bravery and courage to take what he did but come back. I think he is on a 2 fight win streak now. Good on him. A fight like that helps to make people forget the joke fight versus Kimbo. Daley is a really good striker but still needs some fine tuning. He has some high level work, he goes head to body etc but everyone expects the puncher and is wary of it. He needs to work behind his jab more, feint and lure people into ko's. He also needs to work on his grappling massively as the takedowns against him weren't amazing but he couldn't sprawl, defend, change levels, you name it. Feel bad for Jardine. Prangley is a good fighter and it shows how good SF fighters are as Kennedy beat Prangley and Jacare beat Kennedy. White must feel vindicated in cutting him. Jardine comes to fight and there should be a place for him but the UFC wants the winners.
Unfortunately he is a front runner in everyway. First round he looks world class versus Houston, Mousasi etc but then he falls apart.
Have you seen Soko's Judo? Me neither. The guy is shockingly pathetic on the ground and is like a beetle when on his back. Soko clearly likes to strike but because his CV is sooo bad he only looks the goods for one round. He is certainly talented but as a fighter he is completely flawed. He has this odd nonchalant attitude when he enters the ring and appears so casual. Mentally when he faces the first bit of adversity he simply wilts and gives up. Im not sure what Soko can do with his career. But if he cant beat guys like Houston he may be better off calling it a day. Either that or get himself a new camp and trainer.
I think it's pretty clear by now that his wins over Nogueira and Arona were nothing but flukes. I give up on him.
Well theres nothing fluky about throwing a punch with intentions in a fight. But i wasnt ready to join the bandwagon even when he was in PRIDE and had those two KO's. Two wins wasnt enough to make me a believer. Its no surprising the UFC gave him the finger initially as he priced himself out when PRIDE was bought out.
