    Porter vs Thurman?

The Post-Mayweather Welter Scene is looking pretty good!

Come on, he didn't get hit THAT much. You're acting like he's Gatti or Margo. I mean, getting hit is never a good thing but a lot of top level guys eat too many punches. JMM, Chavez Sr., and Foreman come to mind off the top of my head. Other young fighters that take a lot of punches are Chavez Jr., Brandon Rios and Kirkland (although he's a little older)... like I said it's never a good thing but it can be overcome.

Oh Yeah, I saw a Watson twin behind Porter last night,

Haymon should let his fighters fight each other, he's acting a bit like Arum

He can still be a good fighter, but ultra aggressive fighters rarely have long careers.

I think the biggest difference with porter and the guys you've mentioned is that they all have way better power then porter. That'll mean porter will have to work harder then these guys to get the same affect. That's career shortening. That being said he's a faster better natural athlete then those guys so as he develops it's possible that he develops a better hit and don't get hit game.

For someone with 290 amateur fights, he doesn't seem that polished.

A good boxer don't think he will win against the elite.

Reminds me of Lundy...."Loads of Talent with enough Flaws to make a fight interesting". There is an old saying about young fighters from guest boxing commentator Dwight Muhammed Qaui on a "Fight Night" telecast on USA Network back-n-tha'day....(damn, I am dating myself),

There are a bunch of young talented fighters who were all considered legit prospects from the Cleveland, Ohio area: Prenice Brewer, Willie Nelson and Yaundale Evans. And recently they all lost, Evans and Brewer by KO and Nelson was dropped 3 times in a loss to Hector Arroyo. These fighters and Porter (who also comes from the Cleveland area) all have the same flaw...when they open-up to engage in exchanges with their opponent, they

. Porter is a KO waiting to happen. Love his stamina, jab and movement though. I do hope he corrects that one glaring flaw.

Well, it seems like the general consensus is that he will get big fights in the future but whether he fairs well or not is up in the air.

Someone mentioned him fighting Berto- I like that fight. I think Porter takes it by TKO. He's just as fast as Berto with a better chin and is far more athletic. Make it happen!
