Maybe, but not because of anything shown last night.

Sonnen beat Silva up by taking him down and battering him. Shogun couldn't do that, it would have to be a totally different fight.

Silva still wins. Get this thing into your tiny heads. It would take a a stud wrestler to beat Silva.

^^Ditto.. A master grappler at that.

Let's see how Shogun is after this ACL surgery. My bro told me that he has had knee surgery before but I'm not sure.

Yeah, this is the third time that he's injured his knee and the second time that he's had major surgery in three years.

Whoever wins (and I'm backing Shogun BTW) it would be a hell of a fight! Would watch this over Silva v GSP any day!

I agree the fact that Silva ate so many punches cleanly from a non striker without countering is concerning.

At this point, if lost his ability to avoid punches and strike counter, he is done against a guy like Rua. Rua is a fast starter and thats how Sonnen not only caught, but hurt Silva.

Sonnen fought Anderson standing without any fear at all, and he hurt him. If Shogun fights Anderson the way he fought Machida, he beats him.

Agreed. Silva shows a ton of heart by pulling out an unbelievable come from behind victory and suddenly everyone says he would get beat by this guy and that guy! If Silva was not beaten after getting beat up for 4 1/2 rounds, then it ain't gonna happen!

Shogun is not just "this guy and that guy" :patsch If Shogun stalks him like he did Machida....he wins.
