Do you think he has a chance to do something at today's LMW/Welterweight division? Does ha have a chance to beat any contender at those weights? He is definitely a warrior, and a guy with some kind of insane immunity to pain. Is the eye injury too much? Does this loss definitely end his career? When I was watching the fight last night, I couldn't help but think that I wish he could fight on. But I dont think that is a possibility. His eye is too messed up. What do you guys think? And please, no hate- lets just think about his future.
If his smart then no he shouldn't continue fighting. Every opponent from now on will target that eye like cotto did last night. With that said i wouldn't mind him fighting someone like canelo alvarez.
Like I mentioned in another post. Margo has zero defense. It was his tough chin, stamina and high punch output that kept him in the fight. I also believe he did wrap his hands with illegal substances. He no longer has the wraps and now his body is breaking down. No defense and a bad eye spells desaster for the Tornado. He has been reduced from a tornado to a dust devil.
I think his eye issue will always be one if he does keep on fighting because fighters will go right for that eye just like Cotto did. It's tough to say he should quit but that eye issue prob won't go away.
Even with his fvcked up eyelids that will probably close up the first time they are hit, there will always be top 10 guys he could beat. I think he would beat Mike Jones right now. But he probably should retire.
No. His eye is going to hinder him for the rest of his career, and he may end up permanently blinded. I, like many people, hate Marg, but it's senseless to see this guy keep taking a beating. His days of being a top-flight competitor are over. Retire and good riddance.
Hell no hes terrible for Mexican boxing and gives it a bad name. He should fight only in Mexico maybe Canelo, Angulo, or Mayorga in the future. Other than those 3 I dont want to see anymore fights from him hes a disgrace.
Nah...that eye will continue to pose a problem for him against accurate punchers. Losing to a fighter like Cotto by stoppage (because of the eye) is one thing. Losing to a lesser fighter would relegate him to gate keeper status where the risk/reward may not be nearly as favorable.
