Now that Rigondeaux is a free agent after his Top Rank contract eneded.
Would it be a good signing for Matchroom Sports?
With little fan base in America and no television network willing to show his fights due to his style of boxing, Rigondeaux finds himself in a state of limbo.
However were Matchroom to sign him and bring him over to England and broadcast his fights on Sky, would we the UK fans pay to watch him live?...would we support him and raise his fan base?......would he develop a larger profile fighting in the Uk??

If eddie goes after a high profile american based fighter in a promotional dispute he should go for Andre ward

Never thought about this but with the American networks shutting him out then you never know - can't ever see it happening though.

I'm sure a few of the Irish will remember his demolition job of Willie Casey.

Getting him over to the UK for a fight with Quigg (if Hearn dares) on Sky, now that would raise his profile here and would obviously set the ball rolling for Frampton.

Sign him on a 1 fight deal, send him to Belfast to assassinate Frampton, vacate the belts for Quigg.

I would pay to watch him. Plenty of fighters from other countries go to base themselves in Germany, Germany and Canada, so why not the UK. Don't be surprised if Ward when Froch retires gets signed up

I get the feeling Froch has one fight left in him (Chavez Jr/DeGale) so that wouldn't be an issue.

Ward's style isn't exactly Box Office is it?

I'd like to see it happen but I'm not sure how interesting the casuals would be.

Yes because Ward has demonstrated that he loves fighting away from home!!!

I can see him being really keen on coming to England to defend his belts.

Think eddie may relish the challenge of making him box office though
