I know I'll get **** for this, but Personally I think Pianeta at some time will pose a legitament threat vs Wlad. He has a tight defence, good stanima, 1rst rate power when he does throw, and size. I could see wlad keeping him at the end of the jab and getting complacent because of the shell defense Pianeta uses and then getting suprised and caught when Pianeta come out of it explosively. Give him a few more years to get more experience and for Wad to get older and slower and then see what happens.
He's been pretty much outboxed. Not disgraced by any means and pretty competetive in all the rounds but Pianeta is landing the cleaner harder blows and its getting worse.
I dunno if it was his hand as much as the schooling he was getting. His cornerman is clearly heard saying 'I'm not letting you become a punching bag, I've got too much respect for you. You'll thank me for that one day, when you look at the tape...' There you have it.
Big shame.....But hes had a very respectable career and he can be very proud considering how late he started pro boxing. Euro HW Champ........World title challenger (putting in a decent performance as well)...well done to him. Would like to see him replacing Sprott in Prizefighters...but if not, he can retire with his head held high
