I thought Gallagher & Smiths tactics was very unprofessional, it was obvious Smith went out to try and stop Simpson in the 1st how stupid was that knowing how tough Simpson is it could and nearly did cost Smith the fight, in the middle rounds Smith was almost out on his feet fair play to Smith the kid did well to come back and to be honest i had Smith winning by 1 round i also think Smiths defence was dreadful no disrespect to Simpson but if he was a banger Smith would of been stopped last night, Smith needs to tighten up his defence otherwise when he moves up to European level Smith gets ruined

I think the home crowd angle got to him a bit he nearly did have John out of there in the 1st but he did use up too much energy and John is the type that warms to the task at hand so its not the silliest idea to come out hard and fast. you can see by the middle round John's timing improves and he starts landing the shots with more frequency and spite. I thought Smith fought the wrong fight personally he needed to stick and move and outbox him he got involved in a firefight far too often against a man with a granite chin and a brilliant engine basically the last type of fight you want to get involved in with a man with those attributes. I think thats why he ended up holding and spoiling a bit but his heart pulled him through for a bit of a second wind in the later rounds.
Yep agree with this. Especially that annoying raise of hand even when he was getting a beating in round 8.
John Simpson is One of if not the best featherweight in europe:good I for one didn't like his jab and grab tactics.Lets hope in his next fight we don't see a repeat.
It was obvious that he set out to stop him in the first? How exactly? He hurt him and tried to capitalise on it, that doesn't equate to his entire gameplan being to take him out in the first.

Knee to arse combo was very important half the time he was still off somewhere doing it in the corner whilst Simpson was closing in because the round started 5 seconds ago
