I thought Solis showed some quality stuff. He's very skilled, with fast hand, and might be the best counter puncher in the division.

He does need to drop about 30 pounds though, and he won't match up well vs a bigger fighter who has a quality jab.

He knocked out better fighters than Peter (Haye, Timurziev, etc)

We need heavyweights that look like athletes.

I think Pete still has something in the tank.
I hope he sees how important his weight his now that he got blanked by the in-shape Vitali.
He needs to get some good people in his corner, too.

obviously the ts has seen fu*k all of solis fight, he is talented has quick hands and puts together good combos, he can counterpunch well too, and has a good chin by the looks of it,
he has far more talent than arreola who is overweight too, he needs to start increasing his punch output and lose about 2 stone, if he can do this his punches will be more crisp and his combos more effective, i think he can be a very good contender, pity he wasnt naturally a bit bigger he could be a good force in the division

Solis IS talented and very quick, we don't know about his chin yet though. I thought it was funny Atlas didn't answer the question when asked how heavy should Solis be.

Obviously he needs to work on conditioning if he wants to do his best...

I have seen Solis fight first in his 4th or 5th fight. Before i have just read reports that he is the next big thing, that he is this and that. After seeing him i was very dissappointed. I think he is a Sinan Samil Sam type fighter, nothing more. Like you said, he is fat (and will stay fat) and isnt exactly a big puncher. He will go no where. People asking him to come down in weight: When have you last seen a fat heavyweight come down in weight? I cant remember.

Hes far from ****. Hes got very good defense and counter punching ability, very fast hands ETC. The man is just very lazy he is fat and doesnt throw enough once he started upping his workrate he looked fantastic.

Solis is a fat slob with ZERO power. The guy should lose the 40 pounds of flab and fight at Cruiserweight.

IMO, this is exactly right. Only the Klits and Haye seem to fit the bill on the upper tiers.

Damn, David Tua was fat too, but at least he could knock everyone out with one punch. The prospects nowadays like Solis and Povetkin are more Chris Byrd style than anything else.

What do you think are the chances of him dropping weight? 1 or 2 percent?

Do you expect everybody to be a puncher?
