We've got a great end to the year coming up. After seeing many fights not come off, November and December have the potential to make up for what has been a very crappy 2010 for the sport. Please give your thoughts/picks on any (or all) of the fights below... Toshiaki Nishioka vs Rendall Munroe Roman Karmazin vs Daniel Geale Ji Hoon Kim vs Lenny Zappa JuanMa Lopez vs Rafa Marquez Allan Green vs Glen Johnson Zab Judah vs Lucas Matthysse Robert Guerrero vs Vicente Escobedo Kiko Martinez vs Willie Casey Manny Pacqiuao vs Antonio Margarito Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Ricardo Cordoba Mike Jones vs Jesus Soto Karass Danny Green vs BJ Flores Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis Celestino Caballero vs Jason Litzau Andre Ward vs Andre Dirrell Arthur Abraham vs Carl Froch Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Alfonso Gomez Nonito Donaire vs Wladimir Sidorenko Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana Vic Darchinyan vs Abner Mares Joseph Agbeko vs Yohhny Perez II Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins No negativity in this thread please!! These matchups show what a great sport boxing is :bbb
Mares-Darchinyan= perfection for me. Also really hoping hopkins can do it 1 last time. A great end to the year, very excited! :happy
Actually it would be absolutely brilliant if premier sports were able to step up to the plate and get the best of the 50-50 matches in tht list. Lets hope they do
really looking foward to marquez vs lopez, the old mexican peurto rico rivarly. i reckon rafa can de-rail the juanma steam train :good also quite looking foward to Mares - darchinyan. not really sure how thats gona go down but hopefully premier sports pickm both these up
Toshiaki Nishioka vs Rendall Munroe nishioka on points Allan Green vs Glen Johnson this fight has the potential to be really boring. DRAW Kiko Martinez vs Willie Casey great fight this, casey on points Manny Pacqiuao vs Antonio Margarito pacqiuao to struggle a bit but get the decision Danny Green vs BJ Flores green has suprised me this year and flores has been quiet, i cant pick a winner here? Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis FOTY? head says marquez heart says katsidis Andre Ward vs Andre Dirrell dirty tactics ward wins again Arthur Abraham vs Carl Froch another good fight, froch gets desperate and stopped Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana khan stops maidana late Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins pascal on points
Toshiaki Nishioka Roman Karmazin Ji Hoon Kim JuanMa Lopez Glen Johnson Zab Judah Robert Guerrero Kiko Martinez Manny Pacqiuao Guillermo Rigondeaux Mike Jones BJ Flores Juan Manuel Marquez Celestino Caballero Andre Ward Carl Froch Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Nonito Donaire Humberto Soto Marcos Maidana Abner Mares Yohnny Perez Bernard Hopkins
Toshiaki Nishioka vs Rendall Munroe Roman Karmazin vs Daniel Geale Ji Hoon Kim vs Lenny Zappa JuanMa Lopez vs Rafa Marquez Allan Green vs Glen Johnson Zab Judah vs Lucas Matthysse Robert Guerrero vs Vicente Escobedo Kiko Martinez vs Willie Casey Manny Pacqiuao vs Antonio Margarito Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Ricardo Cordoba Mike Jones vs Jesus Soto Karass Danny Green vs BJ Flores Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis Celestino Caballero vs Jason Litzau Andre Ward vs Andre Dirrell Arthur Abraham vs Carl Froch Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Alfonso Gomez Nonito Donaire vs Wladimir Sidorenko Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana Vic Darchinyan vs Abner Mares Joseph Agbeko vs Yohhny Perez II Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins
Toshiaki Nishioka vs Rendall Munroe - I think Rendall will give a great account of himself but ultimately lose a close points decision. Roman Karmazin vs Daniel Geale - Karmazin points Ji Hoon Kim vs Lenny Zappa - Don't know nearly enough to comment JuanMa Lopez vs Rafa Marquez - i love Rafa but i just see the fresher, younger fighter catching him at the right time after the wars with Izzy and taking advantage of his decreased punch resistance. Juanma TKO Allan Green vs Glen Johnson - i don't think Green can stop Johnson and i don't think he has the stamina after all his health problems a few years back to win on points. Provided the road warrior can safely make 168 i see him taking this on points down the stretch. Zab Judah vs Lucas Matthysse - i haven't seen alot of Matthysse but am very intrigued by this fight. I think Zab's alot more effective at 140 and still a dangerous fight for anyone at LWW, i don't know what Matthyse's chin's like so i'll play safe and say Zab on points. Kiko Martinez vs Willie Casey - i think this has come too early for Casey, potential to be a good fight but i can see Kiko catching him and taking him out. Manny Pacqiuao vs Antonio Margarito - i don't think this will be the walkover most do and i think Pac will have difficult points in the fight, but i just think he's on too much of a historic run at the minute and at the top of his game in every way. Mosley beat alot of the prime out of Marg and i think Pac wins a clear decision. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Ricardo Cordoba - Rigo is just too good to not win this fight, but Cordoba might cause him a few awkward moments purely from a stylistic standpoint. Still expect Rigo to win comfortably on points. Mike Jones vs Jesus Soto Karass - Jones will prove too big and strong for Soto Karass, overpowering him for a mid rounds TKO. Danny Green vs BJ Flores - i like BJ for the upset here, but worry about the judging in australia. Tentatively say BJ on points, heard alot of good things about him from Haye and this is his big chance to announce himself on the world stage. Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis - Katsidis has improved alot since the Casamayor fight, but i can't see his already warrior-ridden face stand up to JMM's precise and deadly accurate counter punching. I think this is stopped on cuts late on, JMM tko. Celestino Caballero vs Jason Litzau - Don't know alot about Litzau and i think Caballero's up in weight here. He might lose a few of the physical advantages he usually holds but he's still a top top fighter and improving all the time. Caballero points. Andre Ward vs Andre Dirrell - Dirrell has a chance here, he holds all the physical advantages over his lover but Ward is too special a fighter IMO, too complete and mentally breaks Dirrell and adapts enough down the stretch to win a close points decision. Competitive, high speed chess match though, looking forward to this. Arthur Abraham vs Carl Froch - i'm still 50-50 on this...its gonna be a WAR thats all i can predict with absolute confidence. At this point in time, i'm edging towards AA, Froch eats way too many punches and i can see him getting stopped late, maybe 10 or 11. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Alfonso Gomez - JCC improved alot last time out, Roach made a big difference and i think he'll be too big for Gomez. JCC points Nonito Donaire vs Wladimir Sidorenko - see avatar :yep special fighter nonito, too sharp, too smart and too good for sidorenko. TKO 8 Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon - i think Soto's there for the taking now and Antillon is hungry enough to be the man to do it. Relentlessly coming forward i think he takes this with a late stoppage....i think...:think Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana - speed kills, Maidana might as well have 'hit me with a 1-2" plastered across his forehead, cos he's an absolute sucker for it. and it's amir's main weapon. if the jab works half as well as it did against Paulie i see this being an easy nights work for Amir, leaning towards points but can see a late stoppage as well. Vic Darchinyan vs Abner Mares - i think Vic's too one-dimensional, was impressed by Mares performance against Perez, felt he won the fight down the stretch and he'll be too good for Vic. Mares points. Joseph Agbeko vs Yohhny Perez II - see fight 1 :deal Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins - nothing would surprise me with b-hop, but i genuinely think he's done this time after the RJJ fight, where he looked a shell. too crafty to get knocked out, but Pascal takes this on activity alone.
Toshiaki Nishioka vs Rendall Munroe- Just not enough weight to support my limbs, i would like to go out on a limb though, but Rendall has a tougher task then Burns and Booth had. Tentatively Nishioka decision. Roman Karmazin vs Daniel Geale- Karmazin decision, i like Roman's chances on the outside. Ji Hoon Kim vs Lenny Zappa- Kim in a war. JuanMa Lopez vs Rafa Marquez- JuanMa stoppage, this is really the Bobfather trying to do what he did with Pacquiao. I think Rafa is on the slide and might be overwhelmed by JuanMa. That Vasquez win for Rafa was a bit of a smoke screen. Allan Green vs Glen Johnson- Green decision. I just can't see how Glen doesn't get effected by making 168, which he hasn't done in 10 years and at his age, with his style, i think it'll be the difference. Green has struggled at the weight as well though so who knows. I think that Ward fight made Allen look worse than he is. Zab Judah vs Lucas Matthysse- Who knows which Zab is gonna turn up, even more so at this point. Matthysse might be able to out hussle him, but i'll go with Judah decision. Pick'em fight though imo. Robert Guerrero vs Vicente Escobedo- Guerrero decision. Kiko Martinez vs Willie Casey- Martinez stoppage. Manny Pacqiuao vs Antonio Margarito- Pacquiao decision, but not without scares. Look for Margarito's left uppercut which Pacquiao is susceptible to. I think this is the fight that gives us Manny vs. Floyd. I think Floyd is looking for Pacquiao to slide a little, looking for some more weaknessess and if Pacquiao is in a war expect the fight to be made. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Ricardo Cordoba- Rigondeax decision. I hate how Joe Tessatore of ESPN says his name btw, lol. Mike Jones vs Jesus Soto Karass- Jones decision. Danny Green vs BJ Flores- Green decision. Flores is much style and not enough substance and has been way inactive at top level imo. Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis- Marquez late stoppage after some back and forth. Celestino Caballero vs Jason Litzau- Caballero stoppage. Andre Ward vs Andre Dirrell- I'm starting to lean towards a Dirrell decision, this is a bit like Hopkins vs. Jones. I think Dirrell has the athleticism, reflexes, other tools and style to beat Ward. Need to think about it a bit though. Arthur Abraham vs Carl Froch- Abraham late stoppage with froch ahead on the cards and after a lot of back and forth. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Alfonso Gomez- Chavez jr. stoppage. Nonito Donaire vs Wladimir Sidorenko- Donaire decision. Could stop him if he manages to catch with enough big left hooks. Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon- Soto decision. Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana- Khan to stay on his P's and Q's and win a decision, although i'm starting to lean towards a Khan stoppage here as well. Vic Darchinyan vs Abner Mares- Tough one here, Mares is more of a 'dog' than Mijares and has the ability to outbox Vic in spots to win a decision. Joseph Agbeko vs Yohhny Perez II- Perez decision. Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins- Pascal decision. Hopkins makes it close, but even the workrate that Pascal displayed against Dawson will be enough imo. Bernard can't fight 12 rounds anymore. He has some advantages here though and won't be surprised if he pulled it off. Just think it's Pascal's to lose. :good

I might agree with Slip on Mr Flores actually. He is a lot of flash and not much substance with his work, he doesn't really commit or put it together as he should and rarely seems to finish his man. Might not be enough, especially in Aus with Green's aggressive style.
