Some Weight swing

On November 30, 1931 KIng Levinsky(190) beat Jimmy Slattery(169) and 20 days later "bulked" up by 4 pounds to tackle Primo Carnerar(272 1/2) a difference of opponents weight of over 100 pounds. I'm sure there have been other similar occurences but still it might take some beating,

 

That deserves recognition.

 

Jack Sharkey fought Mickey Walker in one fight and Primo Carnera in the next.

Ironicaly Walker held him to a draw while Carnera got smashed.

 

Carnera later returned the favor on Sharkman........... Winning the title in the process............ Was it legit or was the 'Fix' in the bag??? Many critics didn't think Carnera had the metal to KO "The Shark" in 1933...:shock:

I am certain that the fight was legit.

Studying the film I cannot come to any other conclusion, and I have obviously defended Sharkey recently.

Basicaly Sharkey had one of his periodic lapses, and Carnera fought the fight of his life with a superb strategy.

They closed the distance between them.

 

Agree. Jack bobbed into the uppercut as I remember it.
