hes underestimating us pinoys. he thinks venezuela has better boxing history than us. and even japan is better. i would like to have his head crushed like a pinata.

yes, penalosa is overrated big time. look, he was a qualify champion but if you scrutinize his record closely you'll find that he never beat a top flight fighter. i say overrated in that he may have a great chin and solid skills but he never beat anybody of significance.

you are the worst. every pinoy fighter you scrutinize as overrated.. but your own crop of mexican prospects you are hyping up. you look down on pinoy fighters and you hate us as if you got ****ed in the ass. wow, you even think that venezuela is better. whats next? el salvador?

that stupid **** doesnt matter. thailand and japan keep their belts to themselves via hometown decisions. and our fave sport is basketball although we are yet to compete globally.... i never even heard an ATG coming from venezuela...

gerry penalosa cant be the next manny pacquiao, he's older than pac...and he's already been boxing when pac was still selling cigarettes...dumb****!!!

i didn't say all pinoy boxers were crap. there are some i actually think highly of. i think pacquiao is probably top 30-35 p4p ATG right now and he could go even higher. cracking the top 20 will be very difficult though. i also like nonito donaire. way back when he was on espn, i predicted he would be a good champion because of his skills while nobody in the pinoy community thought highly of him. i also think brian viloria is a tough boxer with a very solid chin and skills. let's see, i think donnie nietes is a good, tough fighter but he'd better be at his best cause he's fighting manuel vargas from mexico and this guy can box. nietes might have the power but vargas i believe is a better boxer and very well could win. believe it or not, i think rodel mayol is a very dangerous fighter. what he lacks is a good team and conditioning. he was unlucky to lose to ulises solis when he had solis in trouble i think in round five or six. another fighter who i think is the goods is z gorres. he is very dangerous and could win a title soon. again, poor conditioning does him in in big fights. bernabe concepcion is also a very good boxer but lacks experience and that might be his undoing against steven luevano. but if he wins then more props to him. that's about it. most of your fighters are green, lack experience or aren't just not that good.

so you see, i don't HATE pinoy fighters. i actually admire some of them for their grit and toughness. but one thing i will tell you, most of them lack polish and real boxing skills. most go for the knockout instead of trying to outbox their opponents. so yes, i believe the philippines could have many more good fighters in the future but it's going to take a long time if ever before they can be mentioned alongside mexico, puerto rico and the u.s.a.

At least a nice post for once. But u know that boxing is just now being recognized as mainstream sports in the Philippines. There's a real lack of good trainers, facilities in the Philippines. There are no big promoters who could shelter and protect prospect, so the current trend is to throw a prospect into a lions den and see if he survives.

well, i think pinoy fighters are really tough and will only get better. why do i know so much about them? it's called respect. although i don't respect most *******s i do have to say i respect alot of their fighters cause they bring it every time they step into the ring.

Almost all current Mexican fighters are bum. The latest overhyped fighter to get his ass beaten is Urbano Antillon. Who's next? Steve Luevano. Mark my word. Bernabe Concepcion will whoop his ass.

95% of all Mexican boxing fans hate Steve Luevano. I doubt Mexicans will be crying if Luevano gets stopped by Concepcion.

nice post for once, props for at least appreciating pinoys in boxing. yeah i very much agree with you on this. we dont do much **** in olympics (esp boxing) because of lack of support from govt, but in pro boxing we are yet to see what we are really made of cause ive been seeing decent prospects who i hope could become future champs.

its gonna take a loong long time to be on par with you guys. and it might or might not happen.
