been having it for a while now, I only feel the pain when I press hard on that knuckle or punch with it. Took a 2 week rest but it didn't help =/

Any idea what it could be?

What oz gloves do you use? How long have you been boxing? Are your hands wrapped/wrapped properly?

I had the same problem. I don't know how it went away, but it eventually did. But it was sore for like weeks. I just started wrapping more around the knuckle, which helped a bit. But I'm not sure how it stopped on its own. Maybe it's just a natural stage to get over with practice.

A long time ago I had the same problem, with the middle knuckle on my right hand. At first it would hurt every time I hit the heavy bag, then it got to the point where it swelled up at any contact. I went to the doctor, had x-rays done, and he found nothing wrong. I wrapped sponges under my wraps, every trick I'd ever heard of or read about and it kept getting worse.
It got to the point where I figured I would have to quit hitting the bags and such, so I sat down one night and really took apart how I was throwing my right hand. I found that my distance was wrong, I was too far away, and I had a tendency to wave the punch, not coming straight from the shoulder. I made the adjustments and my right hand went from being an ok punch to being almost even with my left hook and I've never had problems with it since.

I have exactly that issue now. My middle knuckle on my right hand. I first felt the pain after working the heavy bag. I rested it then next time I hit the pads it sent shooting pain through my hand I persisted in that session. I then rested 2 weeks no use of the hand, went back again on the pads ordered some winning knuckle guards and 5 mins in had the pain again now it's even worse. The best advice is don't be a hero and box through it rest the injury the doctor told me to give it 4 to 6 weeks, so I'll just be shadow boxing and running let it heal no point risking a more severe injury.

You are gonna have to lay off the heavybag for a few weeks at the very least and let it heal properly. When you come back try wearing two sets or 180" wraps and good pair of gloves with adequate protection on the knuckles. And just don't throw with full force using that right hand till you feel comfortable.

Check your gloves out. And the way you wrap your hands, possibly.
I had a similar problem a long time ago. A new pair of gloves I'd bought were the cause for the tendon/knuckle injurty. I tried breaking them in, but after a month or so I decided to just go ahead and try a new set of gloves. Problem solved.
