Yep thats what I meant. The second one. Thats why i thought he 'retired' instead of fighting on. No doubts about it that he was close to finishing off Sexton in the first and showed a little inexperience by not finishing off himself but instead looking at the ref. 'Fat Bald Crooked Arsehole' maybe a tad harsh.
i think its ironic how some people overlook the fact Sexton had the chance to finish Rogie in the previous round, they were great fights regardless but Sexton gets a lot of unnecessary **** for Rogans inexperience
Rogan was getting beat... I had a great seat at The Odessey that night... From the 4th round Rogie was blowin like a Shire Horse... If he had an injured neck with so much on the line for future fights he should have pulled out of the fight. Why risk an even longer lay off...:think Rogie was not in great condition for the Sexton fight, would he have been in great shape if he would have stayed Breen...? He would have been a lot better prepared IMO...:yep
I dont think the trouble that each fighter was in was comparable. Rogan had a minor wobble - Sexton was like a frickin rag doll!! "Sexton gets a lot of unnecessary **** for Rogans inexperience" - I really hope your job isnt writing history books mate because that is some serious revisionism there. Rogans inexperience didnt make Sexton spit his shield, Rogans inexperience didnt make Sexton turn his back and cow in the corner with his head buried in the turn buckle, Rogans inexperience didnt make Sexton feign distress in order to get a break in the fight, Rogans inexperience didnt make Sexton throw a punch at Rogan when Rogan stopped to see if Sexton was OK. Rogan deserved the criticism he gotfor not finishing Sexton when he had to chance but let not overlook the actions of Sexton. Sometimes when the chips are down and a mans back is up against the wall you get to see his true true and see how low a guy will stoop to gain an advantage. That round told us a lot about both fighters.
rogan didnt spar a single round for the 2nd fight and his lack of conditioning showed no doubt, he was brave enough to step in due to the tickets already being sold and basically said himself that if he didnt knock out sexton in the 1st couple of rounds he was going to lose look at his energy levels in the skelton fight- it looks like a different man and his injury that made him 'quit' was a compression of a vertebrate in his back, a injury that limits movement and causes a severe amount of pain. hes having SPINAL surgery to get it fixed. more serious of a injury than the one vitali klit and junior witter 'quit' with i think all the same, fair enough to sam sexton you can only beat whatever your up against and he did what he needed to do
It was muted that the split was over the cut to Breen...? I thought that he was in a great camp... The documentary on BBC Iplayer about the Skelton fight and that gym was good. I think because of his condition he has dipped on a few decent paydays... If he would have beaten Sexton there were a few bucks on the horizon for him in 2010... I went to the Skelton fight which made me go to The Odessey for the rematch with Sexton. What a great venue to watch boxing, it was an awesome atmosphere...:good
Sosnowski by UD, 9-3 or so. Sosnowski is younger, in great shape, works really hard and has that take 1 and give 2 mentality.
Rogan has unfortunately missed the boat. He's 38 years old, (he looked it in the 2nd Sexton fight), and does not have time to work himself into a position for a European title shot off the back of two defeats. Either way Sosnowski, on last nights performance, beats him handily (he would also beat Sexton just as handily).
i think because of rogies popularity if he gets one or two fights in , matchroom would jump at the chance to make this fight as a voluntary for sosnowski at a packed odeysea rogie can comeback no doubt just needs to sort the injury out
I think the beneficial thing for Rogie is that with the right opponent and media spin he can bang out The Odessey no problem.. That will not be lost on any promoter...so I think he will fight again for something should he get his injury and fitness sorted...:yep
