WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC are the only ones that count, and only one in each.

But forget about the titles under lmw, only look at the ones above that.
I'm not saying the eastern euros would have had a massive impact that low.
But why do you think all these world champions, olympics champions and european champions would not have been successful in the pros?

Is is just a coincidence that when they get there pro system up and running is at the same time as the usa just happening to have their worst period ever.
Or could it be that it appears to be a weaker era for america because they are less dominant?

A lot of ppl who espouse this usually use it to discredit American fighters, (I know a poster who does this a lot) forgetting conveniently that the best Soviet boxers were usually beaten by the American greats convincingly in a lot of cases like with Ali, Frazier and Foreman. There would have been greater talent but I'm not sure how much of an impact they would have made.

Don't agree. Ivan Drago had a great amateur pedigree but then went pro, beat a guy who had been out of the game for 5 years (Creed) and was eventually exposed against a guy who was 4 foot shorter than him, had a 2 metre reach disadvantage and in the twilight of his career. Drago was such a disappointment in fact, that towards the end of his fight, his own nation turned their backs on him. A fraud in my book....:yep
