I'm curious to whether people spar with lighter gloves before an amateur bout?
If you're so used to getting popped with 16 ounce gloves, is it kind of a shock when you get hit with 10 ounce gloves in your first fight?
I guess my question is have any of you sparred with 10 ounce gloves before your first fight to get a feel for it?

I believe Amateur fights are fought with 12 ounce gloves.

it's 10 up to 152 per the USA Boxing handbook. I got curious since there seemed to be confusion.

I've sparred with 10oz fight gloves before so I could 'get a feel for it'. The spar was against somebody with a lot of experience so they knew not to go too far.
