Speed will take you a lot farther than power. So many fighters are befuddled by speed their entire careers and never figure it out. Once you get to a certain level, A lot of guys start handling your power better. It's a special fighter that learns timing and skill to negate speed.
Punching Power . Even after getting my ass kicked for 12 rnds straight . I will always have that chance of Coming back and changing the whole fight with 1 punch . LIGHTS OUT ! !
^^ Exactly. Wlad is fast and powerful and has learned good defense from Manny. Speed will take you further than power. Most fighters have "average power" which means enough to hurt you by accumilation at the very least if they can't do it off one punch landing flush on the button. Average power + speed is better than lots of power but not being quick with it. Best of all of course is having speed + power...like a prime Tyson. But of course don't forget Tyson was a very skilled fighter in attack and defense in his younger days...later on his skills and dedication waned and his power alone wasn't enough anymore..so he got out. After losing fights to a couple of bums.
Power. You could have loads of speed and box your way to a win, but lack the power you need when your getting out boxed and you need that one punch KO.
All these greats possessed good power. Robinson bad great power at WW. Hearns....at every weight. Floyd at the lower weights? Better believe it.
It depends on what else you have. Below welter Speed all the way. Light heavy and up, you need some power. Boxing requires a lot of things, Power, speed, defense, stamina, toughness, chin, heart, and skills.
