do any of you work sprints into your preparation for a fight?? I've had 4 fights so far and by the 3rd round i'm always nackered. I eat well and train very hard...do 3 nights a week in the boxing gym with my club and wen im not in the boxing gym i run 5k a day and do weights, but do take a sunday off

i get really nervous before fights but i know thats just natural and that takes something out of me along with making weight...although weight is never too hard to make just have an early dinner the night before

    i read somewhere sprints are good...6 x 600m if im doing a 3 x 2min bout

    what ya'll think would help??

    cheers

Sprinting is fantastic for conditioning. personally, I like to mix it up with something like 4 x 800m, and then hit some short bursts like 8 x 20m.

Hill sprinting is also phenomenal for conditioning. Sprint 50m uphill, jog back down and repeat till you die! I also like to add an explosive exercise at the top of the hill like clap pushups, tuck jumps, burpees eyc.

yeh sprints very gud, helps ur explosive power in the ring such as thrown big punches and not getting tired as quick,, also improves leg speed and leg power which is were alot of the punch power comes from

sprints should be done more more frequently than long distance runs for training for amateur fights
