Take yer tongue out of his arse. Paul was getting paid from Tommy so whatever deal is done between them is between them and nothing to do with Coldwell, Tommy likely got more but Paul didnt even get 25% of what people are claiming. What does well paid even mean? the actuall amount is open to interpretation cand if it was never disclosed in public how the **** do you know what he got.

Smith definitely won he won the first for rounds an definitely won at least 3 of the last eight which means he won the fight I had the same score as rob when I watched it again an also people are coming on saying they missed the first few rounds but thought Simpson won the fight u have to watch the whole fight to score a fight an I think Jim watts commentary tries to sway u tom give Simpson rounds so watch it in silent

I agree Frankie. I though Jim Watts commentary was shocking in the second half of the fight, he just seemed to slate Smiths lack of inside game constantly.

I had Swifty winning by 2 rounds but it was a close fight. Fair play to Smith for going into Simpsons backyard in only his 11th fight :good

First things first, id again like to thank John Simpson for the opportunity, he didnt have to fight me and could easily have moved on to European Class but didnt....and yes, I will gladly have the rematch with Simpson, just like I said on my interview after the fight.

I broke my left hand so will need that to heal first before I am fighting again but when its healed I will fight Lindsay and Simpson in whichever order.

In terms of tactics...I went out to box really, but broke my left hand in the 4th or 5th.... a lot of my boxing then went out the window as my jab became neglected. I do feel I smothered up close, dont know why I didnt work more inside, may be credit to John I dont know. Felt I had better success on the outside so looked to get back to long wherever possible, mistakes to learn from yes.

And finally, a lot of people seem to get on my back....I have gone into a GOOD CHAMPION's own backyard, up to Glasgow in front of a very hostile and loud crown to fight for a Commonwealth Title after 10 fights. A lot of prospects are knocking bums over for 20. Soon as one comes along who wants to do it the hard way and do my talking as im walking so to speak, I seem to be slagged anyway.

Im FAR FROM the finished article, I will make a lot of mistakes along the way but I will keep learning and improving. People havent seen half of what I can do yet.

    Thanks for all the support.

    Congrats Swifty.

Like a lot of others it seems, I had Simpson by one round but cant really argue with it going either way. Good fight and all credit to both boxers. Absolutely made up with a win for a Scouser. Whoever he fights next, hopefully it will be in the Echo arena!

    Spot on Stephen. Well said

I get the feeling Lindsay will go for the European, in which case the BBBofC should order a rematch between yourself and Simpson. Do it in Liverpool this time as champion in a big card with your brother and Tony Bellew and with the 12 rounds behind you cement the win. I still think until you get to world level Lindsay and Simpson are the other 2 best FW's in Europe so there no probem fighting them twice.

I scored the fight like this:

    1. Smith
    2. Smith
    3. Smith
    4. Simpson
    5. Simpson
    6. Smith
    7. Smith
    8. Simpson
    9. Smith
    10. Smith
    11. Simpson
    12. Simpson

One question Stephen i saw your brother drew what happend?

I scored the fight very similarly to yourself Rob, 7 - 5 ish. Think I gave the 8th even if I can remember rightly. I only watched it again last night for the first time but if I watch again i will watch it in silence and try and just judge what I see.

I also agree that Simpson and Lindsay are the best two out there so why not have a little trilogy between the three of us, it'll make for some good fights.

Liam won his fight. He won the first 2, switched off in the 3rd and then won the 4th. Ref gave a draw. Thats boxing. Gutted like.

Hopefully get Liam the rematch on Pauls card in October.

I don't no if you noticed this but the long time EBU champ Yefelmichov lost to a french guy last week so the European is a winnable fight for all 3 of you.

    Ignore the bell ends mate.

It's one thing saying "close fight, I scored it [x]" and a complete other thing saying "I wasnt impressed".

You boxed well mate. As you say, the hand injury didnt help and I'm guessing the cut didnt either (although Mick done a great job with that). First three rounds you eased. Fourth was similar. Obvious that the injury and cut hampered your display and as you say, on the inside you were less effective. But you hadnt fought anyone (as a pro at least) in the same class as Simpson before that fight and you more than held your own. I honestly think you can push on from this. I said before I scored it one round to Simpson, but in a fight that close I wouldnt complain with any outcome. And I'm made up you won anyway!

Enjoy your time as champion mate and enjoy yourself while you're recovering from your injury because the way you're going, there arent going to be any easy fights from here! And that's just the way we like it.

Good to see you getting stepped up early. All the best mate.

This is what A LOT of people seem to be forgetting, it was only your 11th fight! I was impressed with your confidence in going in to a hostile atmosphere.

There may be things to improve on but you would expect that from ANY fighter thats only had 11 fights.

I rate Simpson highly so i think a tight win (i had it 115-113) is a very impressive result.

Thanks as well for winning me some money at the bookies mate, had a nice little bet on you winning on points :good
