If Silva fought GSP like he fought Vitor tonight, Silva would get absolutely maimed. GSP would have that left hand in Silva's face for as long as he was tentative. One right hand, and Silva would be blind, and GSP would just cruise to a UD, in the process opening himself up to criminal charges for criminal negligence, and total disrespect for human life, as Silva would never see again, and would most likely stutter for the rest of his life.

I agree somewhat. After watching such a boring card (even without all the boos), one might become blind in hoping for some excitement. I still think GSP beats Silva on his feet OR on the ground, but the whole carnage angle is just wishful thinking.

GSP is greater than Silva, GSP has no weaknesses as we speak. Silva is still prone to great wrestlers, no not Okami level but a prime Lindland, Hendo, Sonnen level. But none of those has the explosiveness, versatility and a sheer strength like Jon Jones.

Jones made a decorated all american Bader look like a little child, he took him down at will with ease and defended any takedown attempts. Rogan was right, Jones is the future. No ones stopping this kid.

are you f'n crazy? Belfort is considered to be the best boxer at middle, blabbed on before the fight about how he was going to bring it and unload on Silva, yet when it came to fight he didn't throw a punch for two minutes! When he finally did initiate the action by throwing a couple punches, he was KTFO a few seconds after. No-on can hang with Anderson standing up. Sonnen was juiced up on roids so he doesn't count.

you too? awesome. where in st. kitts are ya? because that's the only reason i can think of you just posting a city in a thread with nothing tangible to explain exactly why.

If it is to with GSP being Canadian, however, my location has nothing to do with thinking GSP is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. He is The Great One of UFC. If there was a Cup awarded to the best mma fighter, GSP would win it in a 4 game sweep.

Silva will end up tits up in the rhubarb if he fights GSP.

Seriously, being Canadian has nothing to do with it. I don't like any Canadian boxers, think the Leafs suck, can't stomach the Raptors, and am still waiting for Toronto to get a baseball team. GSP is just simply in a league of his own.

  9. i too think silva will be too big and too unconventional in his striking for GSP.
i'd like to see silva vs jones, hasn't silva been at light heavyweight at some stage?

ya I dont get how ppl think GSP can beat silva. The dude wouldnt be able to strike with him. And as far as takedowns go, GSP is smaller, lighter and probably not as strong , so I have doubts he could even take silva down.

Yes he has and had success.

Don't count GSP out too fast though, He always has amazing gameplans, he's one of the top wrestlers in the UFC, which is Silva's weakness and he's not the classic stand up fighter that Silva keeps facing (Griffin,Franklin,Belfort) he's faster, sets up combos and is very elusive.

I see GSP as the underdog in this fight but he clearly has a better chance of winning than any middleweight at the moment. I sincerely hope he'll fight a top MW before going for Silva.

Silva's stand-up is obscene. He has also proven to be quite proficient on the ground. However we have seen fighters with a wrestling background win rounds against him. Dan Henderson created the blueprint winning his first round against Silva. However, he got caught with a submission. Sonnen (artificially enhanced and all) controlled Silva for almost the entire fight until he too got caught. GSP naturally is much more athletic and talented than Sonnen ever could dream of being. If he fights his fight he has a good chance. Let's face it. Who has Silva faced thus far that equates to the elite level of GSP?

There's not a single weapon GSP has that would win him the fight, whats he gonna do "lay and pray" on Anderson like he did to Penn and Hardy? NO CHANCE!!, the simple fact is...

GSP doesn't have enough power to ko Anderson

GSP is not a submission expert as was shown with his lame attempt to sub Hardy

GSP is not big enough or good enough to keep Silva on the ground!!.. he couldn't keep Torres there and he could barely keep Hardy there either!!

And lastly on the feet GSP would get raped!!.. NO-ONE can stand with Anderson, it's as simple as that.
