i love coming on this forum to speak about boxing and recieve boxing news that espn and cnnsi wouldnt normally post... but all this floyd cotto talk is disgusting

lets take it for what it is

cotto is an amazing boxer and gets better every time you see him
floyd is an amazing boxer and regardless of his behavior he is one of the most skilled if not THE MOST skilled in boxing

more or less this fight will be even.... no poster knows the true outcome of what will happen they both have attributes that will effect the other fighter

anyone writing the obvious saying " he has the answer " would just be guessing luckily...

for now we might as well leave floyd out of the talks because he isnt fighting anyone of any true relevance.. hes just stacking money which if thats his desire let it be... no one on this board has ever had the opprotunity to make 40+ million dollars in around 365 days.... its an amazing opprotunity when you look at it like that so you cant be that upset with him...

we deserve the fight and the fighters deserve the fight for each other..... floyd to prove that he is truly #1 in the ww division and cotto to prove he is #1 at the ww division... at this point cotto really doesnt have any outside draw .. so until he mows down the competition ( which he is slowly doing ) there really isnt any point in fighting him..

to back up the outside draw point..

i go to school in boca raton and in the bar i watch fights...
oscar-mayorga had the place packed
floyd-oscar had the place pushing compacity
floyd- hatton had the place pushing compacity

i go in there last night and the place was empty ... its 100% true.. cotto has no draw outside of the small boxing community that exists..

so lets call it how it is.

let floyd make his money
and
let cotto further demonstrate why he should be the #1 challenger for floyd

when cotto beats margarito is around the time we will finally see the story between the two unfold because at that point... it will be absolutely mandatory for floyd to fight him

ill go ahead and say nobody cares about cotto outside of the pr community & boxing fans...

my friends at school who i suggested come with me (who watched floyd vs oscar & floyd vs hatton) had no clue about who cotto was. i had to explain the whole situation to them and even after that they had no interest in going.. they choose to stay at school and play video games....

 

i agree.. im up for some nice debates and ****.... but the forum is getting boring...


cotto beats up on a live sparing partner and all the sudden hes a god..

we all knew what he was capable of before so why all the
"cotto's an unstopable force" talk now?
he went in teh ring and did exactly what everyone had thought... nothing more nothing less...

some people dont understand how hard it is to make money and be succesful at it.... i feel your in that group..

floyd can - take a fight thats not to difficult and make 30-40 + million dollars .. and do this twice
or
take the hardest fight in his career and 10-20 million
or
take 2 east fights make 60-80 mil and then let the hardest fight in his career build his name to make this fight turn into a 30-40 million dollar fight.. its not that confusing...

if floyd wants to make 80-100 million within 2 years by taking 3 fights.... thats pretty simple math.. no need to name call either

and i see your not from the states so listen... the pr population is only big in the northeast and south east for the most part.. its not as large as you may think and in this point of his career floyd is a mega fighter

him and oscar are pretty much the only ones who are at this point it might hurt to admit this but its true

swingforthefence- no doubt the fights i listed were all ppv's but they were all megafighters... like i just said above... floyd and oscar are really the only fighters who reach a crowd outside of boxing

there hollywood and people who dont give a **** about boxing will pay to watch them...

no doubt pac is a draw... but not to the mainstream sports fan.. only to boxing fans.. thats the point im trying to make

people will watch oscar and floyd who dont care about boxing...

to the boxing world floyd and cotto is the biggest fight we have had the opprotunity to see in years

but to the general sports world... floyd vs cotto is a fight where the new face of boxing is fighting some random guy...

its the truth.. just ask some of your friends who watch sports but not boxing who floyd is then ask them who miguel cotto is...

thats why this fight has not yet to happen

once you get rich enough to buy a honda theres going to be people out there that a honda is cheap to

once you buy a bentley there are going to be people who look at a bentley like a joke because they buy g5 air planes (private aircrafts)

so in the minds of some you can never get financially rich enough... i know if i was in floyd shoes... my mouth would be watering to beat up cotto... but my mouth would be even more wet to get all that $... its a once in a life time chance to financially secure your loved ones forever.... and for some that is a chance that is more important than anythign else in the world
