For all we know he could be referring to Cotto's act of sleeping in the same bed with his friend. All boxers are strange. They punch each other in the face for money.
Cotto often comes across as icy and withdrawn, so it's hard to read him and get reactions out of him. Even when he was accusing Margarito of cheating, face to face, he did so in an oddly calm and business-like manner, even though he was probably furious inside. This sort of thing probably unnerves other fighters, as a lot of them like to play mind games with opponents to give themselves more confidence. Cotto doesn't give them much to work with.
