Style to beat pbf

Hurt him to the point that his defense suffers. It doesn't matter how you get that done, but that's the only way to beat him, IMO. Probably the easiest way to do that is to cheat and get away with it. Constant clinching while trying to yank his arms out of their sockets probably helps limit his shoulder roll. A nice headbutt or two might get him to lift his guard a bit and open up the body. It's just too hard to land clean on him without compromising his defense, either way.

Hatton has 2 of the 3, so he still falls short.

 

Floyd often takes away his opponents jab with his speed and reflexes.

He'll often throw a right hand counter over the jab, or he'll step to the side and throw a right.

If he gets you in the right spot and you're winded, he can land 2 or 3 rights in a row.

 

Ricky will be alright there then! Seriously, I dont think ricky will try anything cute but pure pressure and brute force, try to put floyd in a place he hasnt been before, see how far he can dig! But, its easier said than done.

 

Or..
Paul Williams who has height, reach, some pop, throws punches in bunches, can take a shot, has balls, good stamina, and is relentless.
Guys fighting on the inside , like Hatton, don't have a good of a chance against Floyd as a fast rangy long range pressure fighter like Williams would have.If Floyd tried to fight off the ropes against Williams, Paul could bang away just out of Floyds reach.
Floyd is damn hard to beat but Williams would have the best chance.
Just don't hold your breath waiting for Floyd to volunteer to fight him.

 

I don't mean to diss the Hatton fan but I got a question for them. Did Hatton ever fight a slick and very fast fighter anywhere close to PBF?

 

Big WW, with shoulders, decent speed, good timing, good defense, pressure Floyd when he wants, and crisp punches.

khan is similar to zab....not many can match them in the physical gifts department....but youve got to have it between the ears and know how to put a fight together.....khan and zab dont have that...khan has all the physical tools youd want....he just doesnt know how to flow from offense to defense effectively....just doesnt know how to put it all together correctly

 

I think Vernon Forrest would've beat Floyd!

 

Some of the best from a variety of styles could beat him; quick mobile southpaws, elite infighters, tough and tall boxer-punchers, and tall boxers/counter-punchers are styles I see picking different men from to beat him.

 

i think this is the easiest plan ive seen

create a loyal fan base...preferably one that is largely blind....and hopefully one that just started following the sport within the last 5 years

pretend to want to fight floyd

when the fight never gets made your fans will flock to boxing message boards in droves to defend you and claim floyd is the one ducking you.....they will also claim that you will destroy floyd if you could actually get him in the ring

you win twice....your fans say floyd is ducking you and your fans say you destroy floyd...you never get a scratch on ya and your earning power never drops
