I didn't mean that we require dietary sources for glucose. We 'need glucose to survive' in the sense that if glucose concentration in the blood were too low, brain function becomes affected. Just look up the symptoms associated with hypoglycemia. A large number of them are neurological and cognitive in nature. [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoglycemia[/ame]

I believe that it's very difficult to be overweight if sugars are eliminated from a diet.

It's much easier to get fat on a low fat diet.

What size was the bottle? Are you sure you don't mean 20 grams = 80 calories?

Oh my bad. I thought you were stating that without eating any sources of carbohydrates that our bodies and brain would shut down

Yea, 80 grams of sugar is alot. Most people would probably end up crashing later on after consuming that much.

25g sugar in a little 250ml of fresh squeezed juice, so if its 500ml, and an apple flavour or something, could easily be 80g.

Nah it was 80g, it wasnt a small bottle but not a big one either, pretty easy to drink in one go. Its not uncommon for fruit juices to be that high in sugar though to be fair.
