At his very best in that post-Kalule pre-Nunn hiding, was it the best MW jab you've seen? UP there? Or what, you think?

I rate it very high on an all time great scale alongside Bob Foster, Harold Johnson, Thomas Hearns, Larry Holmes, Sonny Liston

He took apart a prime mike McCallum with just his jab. Won about 9 or 10 of the 12 rounds

Seems like the most obvious competition is Monzon's? Strange that there really haven't been many all-time great jabbers at middleweight in modern times.

I prefer Hagler's jab. His right jab that is.

Yeah, Hagler would be right up there.

Hagler, Robinson, Monzon, who else? Kalambay belongs right up there?

He totally out-jabbed Mike McCallum. MW is weird. I would like to add Watson based on eye, but McCallum handled his jab; I would add McCallum, of course, but how can you when Kalambay totally owned his jab? Put it in a jar with a wee label on it that says "just ok"? Odd.

LaMotta has a beast jab but Robinson made it look a bit limited, another example of MW jabs just vanishing in puff of smoke from the indomitable list.

Kalambay completely outboxed McCallum. He certainly outjabbed him but his footwork was so superior that night he didn't really have to "match his jab" if you get what I mean.

But, yes, Kalambay's jab is up there.

Hopkins got out-jabbed by Taylor, Taylor got out-jabbed by Pavlik, Pavlik got out-jabbed by Martinez....maybe Martinez should be in there I really don't know.

Looking forward to seeing a bit more of Golovkin's jab.

On the back foot Kalambay's jab was great, combining nicely with his movement, slipping and countering. On the front foot I preferred LaMotta's, and McCallum, Eubank and Toney doubled and trebled their jabs nicely!

Mind you, Randy Turpin's lunging left jabs were extremely effective. LaMotta's seemed masterful but Turpin's was actually more effective against Ray.

Seeing Eubank and Toney against flat-footed swarmer-slugger hybrids like Tony Thornton, Henry Wharton and Barkley is a thing of beauty with their double jabs.

    ^^

    Always bringing Eubank into it!

Taylor (Jermaine) had a PISTON of a jab! Brilliant.

Perhaps because he had an incredible jab?
