Super Featherweight will be judged by the level of fighter that is operating in the division.

At the moment its among the worst in boxing, possibly the very worst.

If the fighters you mention move into the division then of course it will be more highly regarded.

The more highly regarded the fighters the more highly regarded the division.

Super Featherweight is poor right now but has some very good looking prospects coming through the ranks. In the short term if Argenis Mendez wins the IBF and continues to make improvements, showing the sort of the form that saw him beat Baloyi so comfortably in South Africa he could be the number 1 at the weight by the end of year.

Argenis Mendez isn't a bad fighter mate. He's quite good. Whether he will make big waves at the weight is yet to be seen, though he faces Juan Carlos Salgado next month (Of KO1 Linares fame) and he is a common opponent of Uchiyama's, so we will see how he stands after that fight. It's not ridiculous at all to suggest he could become the best at the weight, although it is an outside bet.

That said, I don't even know what this thread is about.

Seeing as super-feather is extremely ****, Mendez should make some kind of splash. Otherwise he ain't very good.
