I am very sorry to hear that. Berrio came from a very poor family and still lived at home with his mum and two kids...I wish him all the best!

They are just following their own rules.

The two highest available counter will fight each other. Nothing less nothing more.

    IBF Rankings:
    1- Not Rated
    2- Tsypko
3- Carl Froch (WBC Title Eliminator against Inkin)
4- Denis Inkin (WBC Title Eliminator against Froch)
5- Jurgen Braehmer (He's gunning for the WBO)
    6- Robert Stieglitz

    It's quite simple really. :)

The first Stieglitz-Berrio fight was a title Eliminator for the #1 spot. Stieglitz was highly ranked because he was undefeated and Berrio just scored a big upset win over Syd Vanderpool. Stieglitz won that fight by a someone controversial (quick) stoppage.

Then Berrio fought Yusaf Mack in another title eliminator for the #2 spot. Mack was thought has a raising prospect and was expected to win against Berrio. But Berrio dominated and stopped Mack.

Then the IBF ordered a fight between the #1 and #2 ranked fighters for the vacant IBF title.

That's when we got Stieglitz-Berrio II.
