Dirrell just runs around and is hard to catch - but honeslty is very cautious and not that agreesive. Ward is pretty much as elusive, but stays close and will hit AA. Of course this remains to be seen, and it could be that AA will enjoy Ward being closer more... who knows.
Dirrell was very aggressive against AA.. he was throwing more than 100 punches a round until about the 9th when he started becoming visibly tired. And at the same time remained elusive and hard to hit. We'll have to agree to disagree that Ward is capable of being as elusive as Dirrell because to me Ward seems to get hit more. Either way, it's going to be a tough fight for both guys if and when they meet.
I agree with everything up until the semi-final match and final match. I think Dirrell will have an advantage over Abraham due to style matchup. AA basically needs knockdowns and even a knockout to beat Dirrell. He just doesn't have enough output in the fight to win by points. Secondly, Dirrell counters AA well with those long arms of his throwing hooks around AA's turtle shell defense, and all the while moving around avoiding AA's punches and frustrating him, and landing those hooks with odd angles. So I see it as Ward vs. Dirrell in the final with Ward winning it. He's the mentally stronger fighter, and has a lot of weapons to beat Dirrell.
Good Post! I can see all of that happening as well, but I do believe AA can score a KO on Dirrell if and when they meet again. AA might have underestimated Dirrell before but he may start fighting sooner in the rematch. Also, I cant help but think that was just one of those nights for Dirrell where everything came together perfectly, really looking forward to seeing if he can perform on that level in his next fight. Ward vs Dirrell is such a tough call, if Dirrell fights like he did against AA, I don't see anybody beating him. The only ? left on Dirrell is stamina and consistency, I just cant help but wonder which Dirrell is going to show up in future fights.
