There have not been a lot of English heavyweight champions. Bob Fitzsimmons was one, but he made his start down under in New Zealand, and I think never fought in the UK. Lennox Lewis was another, but his parents are Jamaican, and he fought for Canada in the Olympics. Enter Tyson Fury, a home born man who's based in the UK. If he were to upset Wlad, what would the reaction in the UK be?
The difference is both Fitz and Lennox considered themselves to be British which is understandable when one considers that they lived in England until they were 9 & 10 respectively. Whereas Fury despite being born and raised in Britain considers himself to be Irish despite hardly ever visiting the place. He even carries Irish flag in ring as it suits his agenda. He is a joke and I cant wait to see Wlad flatten him. And you forget about Frank Bruno.
As soon as he wins the Brits will try to claim him as one of theirs and make out they supported him all along but Fury fights for the blessed Isle of Ireland and all that is good and great the UK is an evil empire that needs to be destroyed

Bruno was British for sure. I remember Bruno vs Lewis. Most of the UK was for Bruno. The ref said I don't want any &hit! Bruno took the lead, and had Lewis bothered. Then Lennox landed his own lottery punch in the form of a hook while in retreat. My exclusion of Bruno was done for a reason. He was an alphabet title holder, not the #1 guy / lineal champion as Fitz and Lewis were.
As a Brit, I would of course like to see Fury win, but after watching many fights of both, I can't see Tyson Fury beating Wlad tbh. So, to answer Mendoza's question, it would be a surprise.
