if holyfield was swapped with patterson, would holyfield be champ and how does that effect liston and future champs.

and does patterson stay at cruiser and become the most dominant cruiser champ or does qawi stop him, and would patterson move up to heavy

who knows how big holyfield would have been back in the 50's and 60's without his steroids.
i think patterson would have stopped qawi

holyfield would of been a hevy back in the 50's & 60's without steriods and i agree patterson would of beaten qawi but in the 90's would he of risked fighting tyson, lewis and even bowe when the cruiser's would of been his narutal weight class

he'd have been out of his depth with tyson, bowe and lewis.
i'd forgotten that if he'd only weighed 190 in the 50/60's that would have been the norm:oops:

If you're so sure Holyfield took steroids in the 80s and 90s, why on earth wouldn't he be taking them in the 50s and 60s ? :huh

Anyway, Holyfield would beat everyone Patterson beat, would definitely get past Ingemar Johansson on his first attempt, and might well beat Liston and Ali too.

I'd be surprised and very impressed in Patterson got past a 1989 Dokes.

Holyfield v Liston would be an interesting fight.
If I had to bet, I'd probably bet Holyfield. As much as I admire Liston's skills, Holyfield is the more proven fighter.

Anyway, it would be a damn sight better than Patterson-Liston, or Patterson-Bowe for that matter.

Holy '90 versus Liston '60, or thereabouts.

A great war, i'll have to think it through, since it appears to be a razor close fight.

I agree with those saying Holyfield would beat Liston..

I think Holyfield could beat anyone from this time with the exception of Ali though he would pose more problems to muhammad (legally) no need for ointment in the eye, Holyfield at his best is a handful for anyone in history including Ali!! He whips Ingo in my eyes with relative ease, Evander's chin is rock solid so that will neutralize any chance Ingo has and that also would enable him in my eyes to take the best Liston would also have to offer..

i think holyfield/liston would be close and i might just favour holyfield but what a fight it would be, ali would be a great fight to

patterson i think would stay at cruiser be a champ for quite a while pop up at heavy for a few fights fair as well as bob foster did and then stay back at cruiser
