Sometimes I am a glutton for punishment...well not my own, but watching another’s.

Just rewatched Calzaghe vs Lacy and wow....even more lopsided this time around. Not sure there was more than one 30 second stretch that Lacy won. But the dude was tough and took his lumps with the courage of a warrior.

Made me think of Winky vs Tito where Winky pretty much swept that fight. Or Larry Holmes vs Cobb...

What one sided beat downs do you recall where one guy just totally outclassed another...but the loser was still gutsy and valiant in defeat...no one sided KO’s, more along the lines of a sweep or near sweep on the cards.

Bernard Hopkins vs William Joppy. As it was described in Ring Magazine, Joppy's face looked like it had been set on fire, and then Hopkins put the fire out by hitting him in the face with a shovel a bunch of times. One of Hopkins' best wins considering Joppy's abilities, but now overlooked because of Bernard's amazing accomplishments after that.

Oscar's win over Miguel Angel Gonzalez was probably his best performance over the twelve rounds. Uncharacteristically focused with a beautiful harmony between offense and defense. Gonzalez was tough and skilled himself so he got through it on his feet. Maybe not a hellacious BEATDOWN, but a very decisive sweep on the cards.

    Kostya Tzsyu vs Ben Tackie

    Sharmba Mitchell vs Ben Tackie

    Ricky Hatton vs Ben Tackie

    Vitali Klitschko vs Shannon Briggs

Hi mate, Hopkins vs Trinidad comes straight to mind.

Ali vs Patterson 1 is another one that sprung straight into my head.

    Cheers.

Tackie was a tough sob. He was a natural 130 lb guy.

Hasim Rahman vs Kali Meehan is a classic example.

Jose Luis Castillo put on a clinic of intelligent pressure fighting against Juan Lazcano. Although Lazcano may have netted one or two of the first two rounds, for the remainder it was all JLC. Lazcano took a comprehensive beating and was lucky to survive.

    Manny vs Margarito

Apparently Terry Norris wanted to put a beating on Paul Vaden for seducing Terry's wife. A beating was delivered.

Thread is about fights that went to the cards, not 4-5 rounders

Braxton Saad 1& 2 were tough for me even though both were amongst my favourite fighters. At that time ( early 80's ) it was easy to have around 10 guys who were amongst my favourite fighters lol

Anyways a few others in my mind:

    Burns vs Johnson

    SRR vs LaMotta 6

    Lewis vs Tyson

Mayweather vs Gatti (which I can't even bear to watch anymore)

I found Joppy/Duran very hard to watch, but really enjoyed Norris/Leanard
