This fight needs to happen ... I think especially for Winky ... he needs this fight to keep his career going. He's in limbo right now and can't find any decent fights. What do you guys think? Will this fight be a PPV draw?
Winky seems to be a dick at the negotiating table. He needs to take a fight already. Wright- Taylor II is nice!
Don't know about PPV but it could headline a Boxing After Dark card - would be good for both I think.
Yeah, Winky has a history it seems of ****ing himself at the negotiating table, and he aint getting any younger, coupled with the fact a lot of people find him boring as hell to watch, I think he overvalues himself at times, not sure if this would garner much ppv revenue. But true this fight would be good for both
A PPV draw? Hell no! Now even though Wright gave Jermain all he could handle, I'd actually give the edge to Taylor in a rematch. He fought Winky to a draw last time and looked better than ever in the Pavlik rematch. While I believe Wright is starting to get over the hill now. My prediction: Taylor by a comfortable UD.
winky thinks the sport owes him something. he's already turned down fights with kessler and abraham this year, holding out for something bigger, apparently. :roll:
Regardless of the PPV draw it would sure be an intersting matchup. Id definetly watch it. Imagine if Winky would beat taylor convinicngly--it would sure make Pavlik take a harder look at fighting him.
I think Winky's style is made for Kelly Pavlik. His defense isn't quite as good as it used to be so I can see Kelly just pounding on him and giving him a good beating until eventually Wright gets KOed in later rounds.
I'd like to see a rematch happen but all parties involved are kidding themselves if they think this is a PPV fight.
I honestly think that neither wants to fight each other. They are too even and they know it. They will just kill each other in another tough, close fight with no clear winner. They can do better with others.
Recent news has Taylor fighting Lacy this fall. Winky needs to play the man by doing what Roy Jones did. By that I mean he needs to just ****ing fight somebody.
