Well - how many of Frochy's opponents have been called up on a day's notice??

It would be better just to not fight and arrange something further down the line.

Firstly... Taylor is nowhere near Eubank/Kessler/Hopkins and secondly Froch wont win

Cant comment on Froch, but you'd be surprised how many professional athletes smoke - especially contintental Europeans. Alot more accepted out there and not really frowned upon - even with the health implications. For example - I know for a fact that Didi Hamman, Christian Ziege and Marcus Babbel all smoked.

Taylor beat Hopkins twice. Kessler has not beaten anyone of note.

Taylor had the measure of Hopkins, I agree - and I'm not a Taylor hater - I just think he's limited. Whereas I think Kessler will genuinely be SMW champ for a long time to come.

Hopkins bought into the Taylor hype a little bit himself I think, plus I think he was starting to struggle at the weight a touch plus Taylor was given favour with the decisions in my opinion. Despite all of that, Taylor is still a good fighter & has more than enough in his locker to deal with Carl Froch. Clear UD win for Taylor.

Sort of the same point, but I get the impression that you rate both Taylor and Froch higher than I do.

    I'd say Taylor was a B- fighter and Froch a C+.

    Taylor UD for me

I think Taylor was receiving a little help from the judges in both Hopkins fights - plus as noted he was finding 160 a little tough, hence the double jump to 175.

Yeah I take that on board, but I genuinely just think it was one of those things. Like Norton - Ali, Taylor just seemed to have B-Hops number. It was close and it was certainly an arguable decision but I dont have any major complaints with the result of either.

Dont think those results though show the true picture of Taylor.

You may have a point with the weight though, as you say with the double jump, but still think Taylor is just not suited for Hopkins.

I seriosuly rate Kessler also, and think he beat everyone from M/W TO LH/W apart from JC. However at the moment Taylors resume destroys his. Kessler has once top name on his, and he lost to him.

You cant really have any major complaints with the result in a close fight plus Hopkins didn't help himself by giving away pretty much the whole first half of the fight both times. That said, a prime Hopkins would have dealt with him a lot better.

I do think Taylor is talented, it will interesting to see if he stays at 168 & tries to regain some credibility there. There seems to be this temptation for fighters to jump up from 168 at the moment but it would be good to see Taylor take on a few of the best fighters there.

Kessler got hyped because he looked good against guys like Libardo Andrade. Taylor actually went out and beat B-Hop twice.
