Kessler I don't believe is the same as pavlik in terms of power, but close... the one thing Kessler will not do against Taylor is put Pavlik like pressure on him. I think this fight would be mostly in the center of the ring with both guys being aggressive at times.

He can't I'm afraid. I know this hurts many Taylor/Pavlik fans, but unfortunately the cold hard evidence suggests he's a moderate puncher at best. Yeah he hurt Pavlik, but slaphead left his chin out to dry and Taylor hit him a dozen times.

Other than that, he's never done anything. The best people come up with is his punches are "explosive looking" or "fast".

Kessler doesnt deserve to be in the same ring with JT. Taylor would own him.

I would like to see this fight. Don't know who would win, but it would be an awesome fight. Jermain better keep that left guard up though.

Although im a huge fan of Taylor (my favourite fighter at the moment) im going to have to go with Kessler in this match up, Kessler is just overall the better fighter IMO. As much as id love JT to win this fight he wont.

You know, taylor always lands one on the other guy's chin at least once in every fight. I can see every opponent looking like Pavlik trying to survive in the 1st fight. Taylor is that talented. It's always been hard for me to bet against Taylor.

I think you're wrong, He can land one hell of a punch... he has tons of power. I think what you're confusing it with is how well he places punches. His one weakness as a puncher is that he is easy to see coming with some of his big punches and often struggles to find the mark against guys with akward but effective defensive styles, thus the reason why I believe Calzaghe would give him many problems....that being said, he has an amazing left hand and a very powerful straight right when thrown correctly... I think he is far from a bad puncher.

If you watch Pavlik v Taylor I and then the rematch, his left hand gaurd completely changed.. In the 2nd fight he almost always keeps his left gaurd up and when he throws combos he immediatly would bring his gaurd back... if he continues doing that and stays off the ropes he will do good things at 168.

Kessler did very well against Calzaghe...didn't he? He MORE than proved that he 'deserved to be in the same ring' with a boxer of Joe's caliber.
Infact, he gave Joe a very competitive fight. Wouldn't you agree?......So if Kessler can give Calzaghe(who's clearly better than Taylor) such a competitive fight.
There's no reason he wouldn't be able to do the same against Taylor. Is there?......Unless, you hold Joe in the same low regard as you clearly do Kessler?....Do you think Calzaghe 'deserves to be in the same ring' as Taylor???

Kessler by late stoppage over Taylor.

Kessler is a solid fighter but very basic, with the head always there to be hit. I don't see why Taylor wouldn't be able to land punches and outbox him if Sartison landed good punches on Kessler. Taylor by decision.

I see Taylor winning this fight...Kessler has never beaten any one as good as Taylor, not that he couldn't but Taylor has the better resume....
