In the recent interview clip with the super six participants, Taylor looked really in bad shape to me. I never found him easy to understand, but this was really concerning.

Did the two KO's cause brain damage that is showing up already? Or was his speech always this sloppy? The difference between him and the other participants in mental sharpness, attention span and speech seem significant. I hope he doesn't get seriously hurt in this tournament.

I hope he don't end up like Meldrick Taylor.

No he's always talked like that, even before the Hopkins fights, I lived in Little Rock from like 2003 through 2008 and watched him rise and all his interviews when he was an up and comer. That's just how he talks. He's one of those guys who talks faster than he thinks. He's a great guy though, I met him at a party he threw with Joe Johnson of the Hawks at a waterpark in North Little Rock.

Thanks for the info. I have no doubt he is a great guy. Just really hope he doesn't get his head punched in.

I don't know if any of you listen to Jim Rome but after JT's first fight with Hopkins, Rome had Hopkins on the show complaining about the decision and then JT called up to defend himself and say "Bernard, stop crying!" Anyways after Rome's interview with JT when he was taking calls and reading emails from listeners one of the emails pointed out and made fun of the way JT talks and said he had a stutter. It was ****ed up but Rome immediately defended him.

Nothing to be concerned about, JT's always spoken like that. If you watch the Hopkins vs Taylor countdown, him and his sisters talk about how he used to be teased as a child with the way he spoke.

    Very Meldrick Taylor'ish...
On a side note anyone notice Pea's speech on FNF's last week....
    (Sad stuff...)

Crazy how those fighter's known as defensive wizards now have bad speech.
& bangers like Chavez Sr. ect... still have relative perfect understandability.

Yeah, I've always thought that was weird, too. Whitaker, Benitez, et al. I hope that Floyd is able to avoid that curse, but I fear he's going to end up fighting a lot longer than he ought to.
